RAPOON is the work of prolific multi-media artist, sound explorer, and notorious UK ambient gangster Robin Storey. His output is nothing short of phenomenal, having released 44 CD's since 1992 as Rapoon through various labels in Europe and North America, and an additional 24 releases under his prior incarnation zoviet*france. As a painter, print-maker, and visual artist his work has been exhibited in major galleries all over the world.

His recordings are filled with exotic blends of electronically manipulated sounds and off-world rhythms using tablas, wooden drums, metal drums, pipes, flutes, didgeridoos, guitars, sitar, kelimbas and various other odds and ends. Rapoon's work is infinitely sublime and infinitely sensuous. Literally metabolic alchemy, it negotiates the open spaces of sacred history, drawing upon Indian ragas, Arabic prayer calls and African rhythmic whispers.

Recently he has been heavily involved with the downtempo/ambient scene, performing regularly through all of Europe and releasing the beat-heavy disc RAPOON vs. KINDER ATOM through highly respected Vienna label Klanggalerie.
